Basic Computer Course
Community Access Lifelong Learning funded by DSD until March 2011. This project is to improve educational attainment, skills levels and access to employment opportunities for local people through I.T, particularly those marginalised through bad experiences of school, training or who have been economically inactive for long periods of time. Ultimately it will support vulnerable and disadvantaged people, and improve quality of lives by ensuring that community education in the area is operating efficiently and effectively and is reaching those most in need.
It offers a computer drop in facility
Opens evenings in order to offer to the most marginalised access to I.T. facilities
The most disadvantaged a realistic and viable “entrance strategy” into the world of education and training through I.T Basic Computer Awareness
It includes:
• Learning to use Windows
• Basic Word-Processing
• How to look after your computer
• Accessing the Internet
• Email and Messaging
• Printing and Scanning
Eligibility:
Men and Women, young and old are welcome, anyone wanting to learn or improve their skills,
and depending on numbers, this course can be delivered at a variety of centres in North Belfast.
The course is FREE and classes last 2 hours, weekly over 12 weeks
